Policies for Isolation and Quarantine

Policies for Isolation and Quarantine

Aug. 31, 2021

With the availability of vaccines there are changes from last year per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The university will implement a combination of the two organizations' best practices as well as our robust testing capability to maximize the health and safety of our entire community.

Isolation (following a positive test for COVID-19):

  • Everyone (vaccinated or unvaccinated) who tests positive will be required to isolate for 10 days.
  • If you live in a campus residence hall or apartment you can isolate in Adams Tower West and meals will be provided.

Quarantine for close contacts (with someone who has tested positive):

If you have told us you are fully vaccinated:

  • No quarantine required.
  • Wildcat Pass remains valid.
  • Extra testing, additional indoor masking and physical distancing recommended.

If you have not told us you are fully vaccinated:

  • Quarantine required if household close contact, recommended if not.
  • Wildcat Pass moves to invalid.
  • Extra testing, additional indoor masking and physical distancing recommended.
  • BIGGEST DIFFERENCE: no access to dining halls, classes and campus events..

We continue to monitor state, local and campus data on vaccinations and testing. The more of us who share—confidentially—their vaccination status, the more open and safe our campuses will be.
