Paul Nikolich is an Executive Consultant for the Broadband Center of Excellence, responsible for technology and standards. Paul is also an IEEE Fellow and holds a leadership position in the IEEE serving as Chairman of the IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee.
Paul works closely with YAS Corporation in the technology, standards, intellectual property and venture-investing fields, filling the role of Chief Strategy Officer since 2001. In 1998 he co-founded Broadband Access Systems, Inc. where he was Vice President of Technology and Standards. The Broadband Access Systems team invented and produced carrier-class next-generation Cable Modem Termination Systems. Earlier Paul was a co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Sarnoff Digital Communications, a company specializing in developing high performance modems for SD and HD digital video and high-speed data systems. Prior to Sarnoff Paul held technical positions of increasing responsibility at multiple communications & medical imaging technology companies including Motorola, Analogic and Racal Datacom.
Paul received a BS in Electrical Engineering & Biology and a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, N.Y.
