MAJ Martin Isabelle grew up in Goffstown, New Hampshire, and graduated from Saint Anselm College at Manchester, New Hampshire, with a B.A. in Liberal Studies in the Great Books in 1998. MAJ Isabelle then graduated from Boston College at Boston, Massachusetts with a M.A. in Philosophy. Upon graduation, MAJ Isabelle enlisted in the Army on 4 September 2001 and attended Infantry One Stop Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After completion of Airborne School, he was assigned to 3-504 PIR, 82nd Airborne Division. MAJ Isabelle deployed as a riflemen to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003 and to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. In August 2005, he completed Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in Military Intelligence. Following the Officer Basic Course at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, he was assigned to the Special Troops Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Ft. Benning, Georgia, as the Battalion Intelligence Officer. MAJ Isabelle completed two more deployments as a Joint Special Operations Task Force Intelligence Officer to Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008. MAJ Isabelle left active duty in November 2008 and then immediately joined the New Hampshire Army National Guard where he has held a variety of positions, to include: Commander, HHC 3643rd BSB, Commander, D Co (OCS) 195th Regiment, S2 Joint Task Force, S2 197th FAB, Executive Officer, 54th Troop Command.

MAJ Isabelle has five deployments: Operation Enduring Freedom 2003, 2007, 2008, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2004, and Beyond The Horizons (El Salvador) 2013.

MAJ Isabelle’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 x Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 x Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (4 x Oak Leaf Clusters), the Ranger Tab and Parachutist Badge.

He is married and has two children.
