CPT Chase Blankenship


CPT Blankenship is from Winter Park, FL. He attended Virginia Tech, where he graduated with a BA in History and minor in Leadership. Upon Graduation in May 2011 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery.

     CPT Blankenship was assigned to 2nd Cavalry Regiment, stationed in Vilseck, Germany. While assigned to the Regiment, Captain Blankenship served as a Fire Direction Officer and Platoon Leader in Bulldog Battery, Field Artillery Squadron. In September 2013 he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 13-14 to Maiwand District, Kandahar Province Afghanistan as an M777 Platoon Leader and later the Fire Support Officer with Killer Troop, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment. Upon redeployment, CPT Blankenship served as a Squadron AS3 in the FA Squadron. In April 2015, CPT Blankenship attended the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, GA. He graduated in October 2015 and was assigned to 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA. While assigned to 3ID CPT Blankenship served as the Assistant Brigade Fire Support at 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, Squadron Fire Support Officer for 3-17CAV, 3CAB, the 1-9 FA Battalion S4, 1-9 FA Battalion FDO, and the Black Knight Battery 1-9FA Battery Commander.

    CPT Blankenship’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO ISAF Medal, the Meritorious Unit Citation, Combat Action Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency.

He is married to Kathryn Blankenship and has two children, Lola and Ellis.
