The Latin major is offered by the Classics program of the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.
The minimum requirements for a major in Latin are 32 credits in Latin, excluding LATN 401-402. A Latin major must complete as a minimum a 700-level course in the Latin language. A minimum of three courses must be taken at the Durham campus. A Latin minor requires 20 credits of coursework in Latin. Students are encouraged to take courses in related fields such as Greek, classics, and ancient history, and to take part in overseas study programs in Italy. The coordinator is R.
