October 21 – The Chef  (2014) In spite of the vocabulary, this is a warm and fuzzy movie with great music.  Carl Caspar, a passionate but temperamental chef and a divorced but loving father, learns about social media the hard way.  When a scene he throws goes viral, he loses his job.  How his ex-wife, son, and loyal friends come to his aid makes a great story.  Wonderful Cuban music and delicious food!  John Favreau wrote, directed, and starred. Cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, and other luminaries. Warning: Strong Language.

October 28 – Chocolat  (2000) When a striking stranger, Vianne, arrives in a tranquil and staid French town and opens a chocolate shop, her mouth-watering confections and her cheerful and loving demeanor inspire the villagers to abandon themselves to happiness.  But when another attractive stranger appears, things start to get complicated for Vianne.  Appropriate mystical and haunting music. Juliet Binoche and Johnny Depp star, along with Judi Dench and Alfred Molina.

November 4 - The Making of Steinway 1.1037 (2007)Documentary filmmaker Ben Niles spent over a year charting the process by which Steinway & Sons creates a concert piano.  Between the search for wood in Alaska and its final assembly, over 450 dedicated craft people have taken part.  Appearances by Lang Lang, Harry Connick, Jr., Helene Grimaud, and Hank Jones.

November 11 La La Land .
