Support for the teaching of writing
- Connors Writing Center. The Writing Center works in partnership with university faculty to provide students with the resources and assistance they need to become stronger, more confident writers. We assist students from every discipline, pairing them with writing assistants from their own field of study whenever possible. Note: The Connors Writing Center now offers oral presentation conferences. At the Writing Center site, you'll find information on services the Writing Center offers you and your students.
- Writing Center handouts. These downloadable PDF documents provide useful advice for a variety of writing, grammar and revision topics.
- Helpful Links. Other useful web reseources.
- Writing Center classroom visits. A Writing Center staff member is available to visit your class and spend 15 minutes providing your students with an overview of the Writing Center's services. In addition, staff members can facilitate peer conferencing workshops.
- Teaching workshops. The University Writing Programs offer workshops on the teaching of writing in cooperation with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
- Writing Fellows. Information on how our program trains graduate students to work with students in individual courses.
- Interdisciplinary Studies of Writing (ISW). Information on research grants to support inquiry into writing in and across the disciplines.
