Introduction

The Moore Fields is a 42 acre property containing agricultural fields. Its primary use is research for UNH soil science courses and agriculture. It also provides open habitat for many species of birds.

History

Originally called the Moore Lot, it was given to the University of New Hampshire by Eugene L. Moore on October 20, 1941. At this time the property was forested and extensive timber harvesting activities occurred throughout the 1960’s until it was converted to agricultural land.
