The Women's Studies Minor
Requirements
For the Women's Studies minor, students must complete 20 credits of Women's Studies courses with a grade of C or better. Courses taken Pass/Fail may not be used toward a Minor. No more than 8 credits used to satisfy the requirements for a Major may be used for a Minor. Students electing the Women's Studies Minor must complete W.S. 401 (Introduction to Women's Studies) and W.S. 798 (Colloquium in Women's Studies), normally taken at the beginning and end of the course sequence, respectively. It may be possible to substitute WS 797(Internships_for WS 798 (Colloquium), but please discuss with a Women's Studies Advisor. Additionally, students must complete three (3) other Women's Studies courses, either program courses or those which are cross-listed with other departments.
After completing the 20-credit sequence, the student completes the Certification of Completion of Minor form, available at the Registrar's Office. Once this certification is approved by the Women's Studies Coordinator, the Major Advisor, and the College Dean, the Minor is entered on the student's transcript. The Certification form must be completed by the beginning of the student's final semester at the University.
