30th Anniversary!

Celebrating 30 years of Women's Studies at UNH

Marking the Occasion...

2008 marked the 30th anniversary of the Women's Studies Program at the University of New Hampshire. On May 2 and 3, 2008, in honor of the occasion, the Women's Studies Program hosted a celebration that included panels, discussions, honors, memorials, and festivities. Students, alumni, faculty, and members of the community were invited to celebrate our achievements of the past 30 years and explore the ways in which Women’s Studies will continue to be a vibrant field.

The Cathryn Adamsky Women’s Studies fund was created in honor of Cathryn Adamsky, former Coordinator of the Women’s Studies Program, who passed away in 2007. Dr. Adamsky was a pioneer and leader in the second wave of the women’s movement, and a longtime feminist activist and advocate for university women’s studies programs. Funds from the Cathryn Adamsky Women’s Studies Fund are spent at the discretion of the Coordinator of the Women’s Studies Program in consultation with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. The Fund is intended to support students through scholarship and development aid; faculty through research and professional development funding; and the Women’s Studies Program through support for speakers, conferences, and other Program events.
