Threads of Hope
Film telling the powerful story of a group of women who dared to defy the brutal 20-year dictatorship of Chile's General Augusto Pinochet. Armed only with scraps of cloth, needles and the desire to find their loved ones, the women told their stories with arpilleras, colorful tapestries chronicling the horror and injustic of Pinochet's reign of terror. These arpilleras were ultimately smuggled out of the country and sold, with the proceeds returned to Chile to support the victims' families. Narrated by Donald Sutherland. 51 minutes.
