Anyone can be a victim of a violent crime -- children, teenagers, people who are mentally and physically disabled, the elderly, and women and men, regardless of race, sexual orientation or economic status.
As a victim or survivor of a violent crime in New Hampshire, you may apply for compensation from the New Hampshire Victims' Assistance Commission. You can request up to $10,000 in compensation for hospital/medical expenses, funeral expenses, loss of wages or other out of pocket expenses. You may also be eligible for as much as to $2,000 in mental health therapy costs. In order to qualify there must be no other form of third party payment (e.g., life insurance or medical insurance).
