MYCAA

Post-9/11 GI Bill: Chapter 33

Eligibility
Available to Veterans and service members who have served on active duty for 90 days or more after 9/11/01 are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill, as well as their dependents. 
  • Must have at least 90 days of active duty to receive the bill at 40%
  • Must complete VA Form-22-1990 to apply for benefits to get a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
Beneficiaries are eligible for: (while classes are in session)
  • 36 months of benefits. Auto extension until end of term for Veterans only
  • A monthly stipend/BAH 
  • Covers tuition and fees, in state, at their percentage rate
  • Eligible for Yellow Ribbon if at 100%
  • Book stipend 

Special Note: If service member is still on active duty, they must have two years completed and they will only receive tuition & fees and a book stipend. No monthly stipend. No yellow ribbon.

Montgomery GI Bill: Chapter 30

Eligibility

Available to active duty service members, Veterans, and eligible selected Reserves. 

  • Service from 01/01/1985 to present
  • Must have contributed $1200 to the Military 
Beneficiaries are eligible for: (while classes are in session)
  • 36 months of eligibility with a 12 week extension 
  • Stipend

Vocational Rehabilitation: Chapter 31

ELIGIBILITY
AVAILABLE TO VETERANS ONLY
  • Eligibility is determined by the VA with a VA Counselor
  • Must have a disability rating of 20% or more 
  • Must complete an aptitude test with the VA
Beneficiaries are eligible for: (while classes are in session)
  • Tuition and fees
  • Stipend
  • Book and supplies stipend

Yellow Ribbon Program 

Eligibility

Available to Veterans, service members and their dependents (excluding spouses if on active duty) using Post-9/11 GI Bill: Chapter 33 at 100%

  • Eligible for Chapter 33 100%
  • Must be living out of state
Beneficiaries are eligible for: (while classes are in session)
  • Covers out of state tuition cost using the Yellow Ribbon Grant'

Tuition Assistance: Army Only 

Eligibility
  • Active Duty personnel in the Army
  • Issued by your Educational Counselor 
  • Managed through GoArmy Ed
Beneficiaries are eligible for: (while classes are in session)
  • Tuition Assistance is applied to your financial account with the understanding that the student will attend the course in its entirety. If a student withdrawals, stops attending, or fails the class, they may no longer be eligible for the full TA amount and will be responsible for payment.

Tuition Waiver: New Hampshire Air & Army National Guard 

Eligibility
  • Completed Basic Training: Initial Active Duty for Training (IADT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT)
  • Must also be a satisfactory participant (Weekend Warrior)
  • Get waiver through Educational Counselor 
Beneficiaries are eligible for: (while classes are in session)
  • Waiver after the GI Bill T&F is applied
  • Tuition Assistance (Only if Army)

By Law: You must take out (deduct) the GI Bill, TA, NH National Guard Scholarship or any need based grant before applying the waiver 


MYCAA

ELIGIBILITY
AVAILABLE TO Active Duty Military Spouses
  • Spouses of active duty service members in pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O2
  • Spouses of activated Guard and Reserve members in pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O2

BENEFICIARIES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR: 

  • Provides spouses up to $4,000 over 2 years to pursue degree programs, licenses or credentials that lead to employment in portable career fields
