Student Support Services (SSS) is federally-funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. In order to be eligible for the services listed above, you must be enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program, *From 2007 tax return Form 1040, line 43;   or Form 1040A, line 27;   or Form 1040EZ, Line 6 Nearly 20% of UNH students are eligible for Student Support Services based upon family income. In addition, students enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program who have documented learning disabilities or other documented disabilities may be eligible for SSS. The term "low-income individual" means an individual whose family's taxable income for the preceding year did not exceed 150 percent of the poverty level amount. The figures shown above under family income represent amounts equal to 150 percent of the family income levels established by the Census Bureau for determining poverty status. The poverty guidelines were published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 15, January 23, 2008, pp. 3,971-3,972.
Student Support Services (SSS) at UNH is 81% funded through a $303,867 TRiO grant from the US Department of Education in 2007-08. UNH contributes 19% or $69,342 as matching funds. Find out more about TRIO Programs and our federal connection.

Due to the specific nature of this grant, SSS can be offered only to ELIGIBLE students. These services include:
free individual tutoring in a specific subject area
individual career exploration
graduate school advising and GRE/GMAT/LSAT preparation
individualized scholarship search assistance
individualized computer & Internet instruction
facilitated study group instruction (sgi) in selected courses
and meet the following family size and income criteria:
