Blue Light Emergency Telephones
The University of New Hampshire utilizes a network of Blue Light Emergency Telephones
for your safety and convenience. The phones are located throughout campus and marked
by blue lights and the word "emergency." The yellow phone boxes located outside of
many dorm entrances have a red emergency button as well. In an emergency press the
red button to automatically dial the UNH Police Department.
Activation of these phones calls directly to the UNH Police Dispatch Center and is
monitored 24 hours a day; every day of the year. These phones are consistently
being tested by our Support Services Division.
The goal of the University is to have a Blue Light Emergency Phone in sight
at all time. If you find an area on campus where you believe a Blue Light
Emergency Phone should be located please contact our department.
