There is outdoor seating for approximately 12,000 guests on Memorial Field with standing room for several hundred more. The Commencement ceremony will be broadcast live inside the Whittemore Center Arena, which can accommodate an additional 7,500 guests. Guests are not permitted to bring their own folding chairs.

The Commencement ceremony will take place outdoors at Memorial Field on the scheduled date regardless of weather. The ceremony will be broadcast live in the Whittemore Center Arena for those individuals who would be more comfortable viewing the ceremony from indoors.
Chairs are placed in every possible available area on Memorial Field within the limits of the fire code. Therefore, guests are not permitted to bring their own folding chairs.

Guests should plan to arrive in Durham by 8 a.m. to allow time for parking and shuttle transport to ensure they are at Memorial Field or the Whittemore Center Arena for the start of the graduates procession at 9:40 a.m.
The ability for guests to find a seat is determined by weather, traffic, and especially by the time of arrival. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to find seats either on Memorial Field or in the Whittemore Center Arena.

For the health and safety of our guests, and the cleanliness of our event grounds, dogs of any type/size, with the exception of service dogs, are not permitted at the UNH Commencement ceremony. Please do not bring your dogs to campus. Event staff and University Police will enforce this policy.
Lost and found items will be collected and held at the information booths for the duration of the ceremony. Items remaining at the end of the ceremony, will be transferred to the information desk at the Hamel Recreation Center inside the Whittemore Center Arena lobby.
UNH Dining services will have a variety of beverages, breakfast, and lunch items available for purchase before the ceremony under the refreshment tents at Memorial Field and in the concessions in the Whittemore Center Arena.
In the event of an emergency, call 911. Emergency personnel are on site and can respond quickly.

The UNH Bookstore will be selling memorabilia at Memorial Field.
After the ceremony, all graduates will have an opportunity to be photographed with their Deans. There is no fee for this service, and there is no obligation to purchase photos. Graduates will be sent proofs and information on ordering photos at their permanent address, as held by the Registrar, following the ceremony. For information, call GradTrak® at 800-424-3686. Guests will not have access to the front of the stage to take photos.
Communications and Public Affairs will be capturing candid moments at Commencement from beginning to end. These images will be available online at www.unhphotos.smugmug.com. Images will be continually added over several days following the ceremony.
Graduates will be sent a complimentary copy of The Granite Yearbook. This will be sent to the graduate's permanent address, as held by the Registrar, in the winter following Commencement. Please firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
