Willem DeVries

Professor of Philosophy

Willem deVries joined UNH in 1988. His work is highly interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary. He teaches humanities courses with other humanists in literature and history, as well as a course on cosmology with several scientists. Professor DeVries can speak to the media on the following topics: the nature of human being, the relationship between minds and brains (and computers); what it is to think; taking evolution seriously; and the nature and limits of science. He also can speak about American philosophy and democracy and education.
