It is my first fall at UNH and one observation I have made thus far is the way in which students tend to dress. At this rate, I’m under the impression that a necessary graduation requirement is to own as many articles of UNH clothing as humanly possible, and I’m positive I’d already fulfill the requirement! Despite the crazy roller coaster weather patterns the campus has conquered over the past few weeks, students have continued to show off their school spirit by wearing all types of UNH apparel, particularly sweatshirts and sweatpants, found in the bookstore and in small stores located in downtown Durham. The key to this is buying clothing in blue or white for home sports games or in unique colors to be easily identified by your friends among a group of UNH students wearing similar clothing!
Part of the reason I chose to attend UNH was for the amount of school spirit I noticed among the student body, which I have learned is easy to achieve! Since UNH is aware that college students are not always made of money, the university has done a great job so far this year supplying students with free UNH shirts at various campus events such as MUB Jukebox, UNH Homecoming, and even a free shirt at Hayden Sports, a local store in downtown Durham that gives out a free UNH tee when you spend $25 or more while supplies last… The best part is spreading the spirit of UNH by giving clothing to non-students, especially since now it is the holiday season! My family has already made specific requests for UNH apparel for the holiday season, so why not bring some new UNH clothes back home with me to give as gifts during intersession?
