The Starbucks Secret Spot

The Starbucks Secret Spot

The Paul School is a recently built building that most business students, or similar majors, have classes in. For that matter, the building is conveniently located between Stoke Hall and UNH Health Services, across from Holloway Commons, and pretty much apart of downtown. From the outside (or the inside, if you’re one of the students that attends class here) the Paul School is a gorgeous building. However, don’t get too caught up gazing at the futuristic sky-walk linking two parts of the building because underneath is a little cafe that not too many people know about…

The Starbucks Secret Spot

Cornerstone 1926 seems to be a pretty well-kept secret spot on campus. I, for example, live in Stoke Hall and it wasn’t until half way through the semester I knew about the little cafe. Cornerstone 1926 offers everything from caffeinated drinks to a breakfast snack to sandwiches named after business-related jargon such as the ‘Free Trade’ or the ‘Balance Sheet’ – it fits the theme of the being located in the business school! Interestingly, though, is that Cornerstone offers a range of Starbucks drinks from frappacinos, iced teas, to just regular coffee.¬†Like other places on campus, Cornerstone 1926 also excepts your Cats Cache and Dining Dollars, along with cash and credit. It opens before the earliest classes on campus – those dreadful 8 a.m.’s, so you have enough time to pick up a smoothie or a breakfast sandwich. They even have seemingly exotic-sounding drinks such as Italian Soda or Coffee Smoothies (maybe like a Dunkin’ Donuts Coolatta?)

Being a born and raised a New Englander, I love my coffee fix and its pretty crazy how many Wildcats don’t know that Cornerstone 1926 exists or that it even serves Starbucks! I encourage anyone who has yet to visit the cafe to go and try it out- its quiet and well-kept, and because it’s located in the newly-built Paul School, there are lots of relaxing places to sit and sip with a view.
