Alumni Tale: Taylor Sievers ’15

What did you study at UNH?

What were you doing 1 year out of college?

One year out of college I was working for the UNH athletics department doing media relations for a handful of sports teams. My job consisted of social media, graphics, writing, working with news outlets, statistician and various other duties.

What were you doing 5 years out of college?

That’s a good question! I still have a few more to go, but I hope I am still involved with the University in some aspect.

What are you doing now?

Currently I am working with the #UNHSocial team to help promote the University brand and create awareness about things going on around campus, as well as generating content to engage with current potential and former UNH students.

Did you have an international experience (study, research, internship or volunteer abroad) while at UNH?

I did not do any type of studying abroad, although I do wish I did. I had a few friends who studied overseas and had a blast experiencing a whole different culture.

How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?

All of my opportunities became available because I went to the University of New Hampshire. Everything from my major requiring us to earn experience through internships, to having an internship turn into a post-college job, to earning more opportunities through the job which led me to a ‘next level’ position within the University! The people I have worked with or my previous professors have been nothing but crucial in my career thus far.

Why do you believe in UNH?

I believe in UNH because it creates many opportunities for the students it molds. Many friends of mine that I went to school with have careers in the field of their studies, and I feel like that is rare in many Universities.
