Students for Zero Waste Conference

Want to learn more about how you can reduce waste at our school? Post-Landfill Action Network (PLAN)  was created with two main goals in mind: to design a program that works for UNH as well as other campus, and to manage and minimize waste from move out days. PLAN will be hosting it’s first national conference October 3-4 right here in Durham! At the conference you will be able to hear Dr. Paul Connett’s keynote address, participate in workshops, attend presentations, and much more.

Alex Freid, the founder of PLAN,  is UNH Alumni Class of 2013. While Freid was attending UNH he started the Trash 2 Treasure program that many of the current students know and love. Trash 2 Treasure has spread to other schools, including Tulane University, Swarthmore University, Penn State, and more. For more information about Alex Freid, click here.

The conference’s keynote speaker, Dr. Paul Connett, is the author of “The Zero Waste Solution” as well as a retired chemistry professor from St. Lawrence University. Dr. Connett has given over 2,000 presentations on waste management and incinerators all over the world. He is a co-founder of the Fluoride Action Network, which works towards expanding the public’s awareness about the toxicity of fluoride. For more information about Dr. Paul Connett, click here.
