Alumni Tale: Neil O’Rourke ’14

What did you study at UNH?

Health Management and Policy, College of Health and Human Services

What are some of your strongest memories of UNH?

I had a lot of great memories at UNH, teachers, classmates and campus life in general. My favorite professor was Mr. Lewis. Although his classes were hard he had a hilarious sense of humor and was always willing to help me outside of class.

How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?

UNH prepared me for entry into my field (healthcare administration). When I got my first job it was clear that I had a bigger perspective on the industry than many of my coworkers, which has since guided my career decisions for the better.

Tell us about your career path to date… what have been some career milestones in your life?

My first job out of college is definitely one. Another milestone will be when I complete my master’s degree, and another when I get my first job in healthcare informatics.

However, there are so many small things that can’t be measured. Because of these small skills I’ve learned over the years, I’ve grown into a robust professional.
