My Visit to the UNH Commencement Fair

My Visit to the UNH Commencement Fair

Graduation is less than one month away – YIKES! I know that it’s super cliche to say, but I can’t believe how fast the time has passed.  Despite my sadness about graduating, UNH has been very good about communicating with seniors about the graduation process.  Among the various emails from departments, university events and programs, and the alumni center, I received a few emails over the past couple of weeks about attending the Commencement Fair on Tuesday April 15th.  My boyfriend Taylor is also graduating (but staying at UNH for graduate school) so we decided to attend the fair together.

When we arrived at the Granite State Room around 11am the fair was already packed, and we saw Wild E. Cat walk in in front of us!  There were so many different departments and companies there.  University Cap and Gown the first table I stopped at, which was really convenient because I was able to pick up my cap, gown, and tassel!  UNH Dining provided lots of free food, and Stonyfield Yogurt, Coca-Cola, and a couple of other food companies were giving out free samples.  There were plenty of resources as well – representatives from the Financial Aid Office, the Center for International Education, Health Services, and the the Alumni Association were available to answer any questions that graduates had.  I was even reminded of my appointment with Mark Lawrence Photography to get my senior portrait taken for the yearbook.

Additionally, there was a photo area set up, where students could get their pictures taken with Wild E. Cat.  You could even record a shout out to your family, friends, and professors that would be played on the jumbo-tron at graduation.  For those of you who are graduating with me, I hope you had a chance to attend the fair.  To those of you who aren’t graduating, be sure to check out this valuable and informative event when your time comes, and it will come sooner than you think!
