Communication and English Writing in the College of Liberal Arts
Are you a member of a UNH Alumni Network? If so, which one?
What were you doing 1 year out of college?
I moved out from the Gables senior year and moved to Concord, New Hampshire where I was working part-time as a digital content producer at NH1 News – a local news station!
What are you doing now?
Currently, I am three years out of college and living in Boston and working at NBC10 Boston and NECN. I am a news producer for NECN and am in charge of building and creating an hour-long newscast! I work in Newton, MA and our building actually runs three stations — NBC10 Boston which serves the Boston area and NECN which is all of New England and Telemundo which serves our Spanish community.
Did you have an international experience (study, research, internship or volunteer abroad) while at UNH?
I studied abroad while at UNH in London. It was THE BEST four months of my life. I went my junior year and I went with part of the COLA program – which made it really easy logistically to carry over all of my credits. While studying and living in London, I had the opportunity to travel around to six other countries in Europe.
How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?
My time at UNH was truly indescribable. While at UNH I joined the sailing team and was a volunteer tour guide. I found my niche and really embraced my time there. From the classes, to the dorms, to the dining halls and football games – UNH allowed me to become myself. Senior year when I started looking for a job, UNH was extraordinary. I was able to get significant help from the advisors at Hood House, my professors and job fairs. Not only did UNH help me learn so much about myself over the course of four years, it taught me so many lessons outside the classroom and set me up perfectly to jump-start my career.
Why do you believe in UNH?
I believe in UNH because there is something for everyone there.
