London Calling

London Calling

I was looking forward to this day all week because we were scheduled to go on a bus tour of London!  The tour certainly met my expectations, as I’ve been dreaming about visiting London’s historic landmarks since I turned in my study abroad paperwork.  Our tour was amazing – albeit cold – and I was able to see Westminster Abbey (which I’ve loved ever since the royal wedding!), Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, and the Tower of Bridge over the course of one short morning tour.  The buildings were absolutely breathtaking, and it was incredible to hear the past history from our tour guides due to London’s long and tumultuous history.

Looking at the places where important historical events, such as the coronations of British monarchs, occurred was a great experience and I’m looking forward to visiting these landmarks again in my classes and free time. Overall it was a wonderful morning… a Kate Middleton sighting would have made it perfect, but there’s plenty of time in the semester for that!
