What did you study at UNH?

Leisure Management and Tourism

What were you doing 1 year out of college?

I was working for the Works Health and Fitness Center until the fall when I got laid off.  I also worked for the Strafford County YMCA afterschool program.

What were you doing 5 years out of college?

I got my master’s of science degree in family studies in 1993 and worked for Odyssey House. I also got a certificate in supervisory skills from UNH.

What were you doing 10 years out of college?

I left my job at Odyssey House in 2000 and did one year at an alternative high school, then found my place as the family services director at Families First Health and Support Center in Portsmouth. I left Families First in 2009. During this time I took three MBA classes.

What are you doing now?

I became the executive director at the New Hampshire Children’s Trust Fund (now the NH Children’s Trust, Inc.) in 2009. Along with my co-workers, I lead the state’s drive to eliminate child abuse and neglect. I serve on the Prevent Child Abuse America Chapter Network Executive Council and am a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire class of 2014.

How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?

I learned how to move into the adult world while at UNH.
