Who are those people that hide behind the front desk or you see counting people in the fitness center at UNH Campus Rec? Well, I’m here to tell you that we would love for you to find out! I’ve worked at UNH Campus Recreation since the beginning of my sophomore year and, without being ridiculously and painfully cheesy, I have to say that it’s been one of the main highlights of my UNH career. The people that take your club sports fees, or help you get some ice if you rolled an ankle on the mac court during some pick up basketball, or the referee during your intramural game (etc. etc. so on) are honestly some pretty awesome people. So my question is, why not say hi?
Over the past few weeks, I have had a handful of students, approach me either out on a weekend or in class and ask if I work at Campus Rec. While this can seem creepy to do, I’ve been flattered and have loved putting a face to a name. Believe me, we pay attention to each and every person that comes in!
These people got me thinking: who else could I/you be missing out on meeting from being too scared to simply say hello? My suggestion: get to know the people that work behind the scenes at UNH, for they are the ones that make the wheels on this place turn daily. Whether its the wonderful (and oh-so-creative I might add) dining team (note: I’M SO SAD I MISSED HARRY POTTER DINNER), or business services, or the phonathon, or the team at UNH Campus Recreation, we are here for you! We want to know you and we want to improve based on your suggestions. So get to know us!
…and a note from Dave Leach, our Asst. Director of Facilities: No dunking! 😉
