UNH Emergency Alerts
There are two ways to receive alerts from the University of New Hampshire
UNH Alerts
UNH Alerts is a system that allows the University of New Hampshire to contact you during an emergency by sending text messages to your:
E-mail (school, personal, other)
Cell phone
Pager
BlackBerry/Treo
These alerts are UNH-specific.
When an emergency occurs, authorized senders will instantly notify you using UNH Alert. UNH Alert is your personal connection to real-time updates, instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, who to contact and other important information. Curtailed operations messages are only delivered to your mobile device using this system.
UNH Alert is a free service offered by the University of New Hampshire.
Your wireless carrier may charge you a fee to receive messages on your wireless device.
Use of this service is subject to the USNH Online Policy Manual within the Property Policies section, and specifically in subsection UNH VI.F.5 http://usnholpm.unh.edu/UNH/VI.Prop/F.htm#5.
Ping4 Alerts
Location-based alert apps for Android and Apple
Ping4 is a location-based alert system that will alert you to any emergency in your immediate area. If you are on campus, you will receive UNH-specific alerts. If you are in another participating area you will receive alerts for that area only. For example, a tornado warning for Springfield, Mass., will only alert you if you are in Springfield, Mass. Ping4 is especially effective for guests at the university and community members who travel frequently. As it is location-based, you will not receive alerts for events outside of your current location.
Curtailed operations messages are only delivered through the UNH Alert System.
UNH is partnering with Ping4 to offer this service to the UNH community. Download this FREE app today.
