Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research
UNH’s Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research offers undergraduates—working
in concert with faculty mentors—both funding and administrative support
for individually designed projects ranging from laboratory research to
humanist scholarship and fine and performing arts creations. The Center
administers UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) and IROP
(International Research Opportunities Program). UROP offers year-round
research opportunities both in the U.S. and abroad, while IROP funds a
research summer abroad offering nearly unlimited possibilities for exploration
of any topic anywhere in the world. Undergraduate research
opens doors on real-world disciplinary practice, graduate schools, post-baccalaureate
fellowships, and careers; it develops first-hand knowledge of the world
and one’s place in it.
