Hewitt Hall
Adaptive recreation equipment—more than 180 pieces—is rented out by Northeast Passage by the day or week, all at affordable rates.
Gym/Sport and Outdoor Equipment Rentals
Hamel Recreation Center
Sport and outdoor equipment is available to check out and rent with a valid ID and membership to the Hamel Recreation Center. Basketballs, cones, footballs, Frisbees, locks/towels, and outdoor equipment for camping, hiking, boating—and that’s just for starters.

Hamel Recreation Center
Athletic trainers certified through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association offer help with injury prevention, rehabilitation, advice, first aid, and emergency care needs at the Hamel Recreation Center.
Field House
Kinesiology's Cardiac Prevention Exercise Program is designed for any individual over the age of 45 that has one or more risk factors for heart disease. The program, which is coordinated with your physician, costs $150 for the initial assessment, six weeks of exercise sessions, and a reassessment. After six weeks, each exercise session costs $5.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
Field House
Kinesiology's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is for anyone with coronary artery disease (CAD) who wishes to improve his or her overall health and well-being. A recent treadmill graded exercise test is required. Once accepted, you are scheduled for an orientation to the program. The fee for this program is $5.00 per session.

Kinesiology's Community Testing services are conducted by faculty and graduate students in the Robert Kertzer Exercise Physiology Laboratory. Blood lipid analysis, body composition analysis, submaximal and maximal graded exercise tests, and anaerobic threshold (lactic acid) testing are some of the fee-for-assessment evaluations.
Competitive Sports for Athletes with Disabilities
Hewitt Hall
Competitive athletes with disabilities train and attend college as student athletes through a unique opportunity with Northeast Passage and UNH. Students recruited and accepted into the program train and study along side UNH NCAA athletes. Sports include sled hockey, alpine skiing, and cross country skiing.
Field House
At the Employee Fitness Center undergraduate and graduate kinesiology students offer fitness training to faculty and staff, through the employee fitness program. Cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines are for employee use.

The UNH Employee Fitness Program provides a laboratory for graduate and undergraduate students in exercise science to work with UNH employees for a year on all aspects of fitness. This includes fitness testing, exercise prescription, and personal training. In addition, students also learn about program development.
Hamel Recreation Center
Create your own training program through the Personal Fitness Training program. A certified trainer will provide you with information, feedback, testing, and an individualized workout. Sign up at the Hamel Recreation Center front desk.

Seasonal adaptive sports for people with disabilities in cycling, court sports, cross country skiing, golf, hiking, paddling, power soccer, and waterskiing are offered by Northeast Passage. Competitive opportunities are available in sled hockey, quad rugby, and Nordic skiing.
Swasey Indoor Pool
Aquacise is a basic aerobic class held in shallow or deep water and offers less impact for the same intensity as a land-based aerobic class. This class, offered by Campus Rec, is free to students and Hamel Recreation Center members and pool pass holders.
Hamel Recreation Center
Step, hi/lo, cycling, cardio boxing, hip hop, strength training, interval training, aquacise, Latin funk, and more are offered by Campus Rec. Group classes, 35 to 40 per semester, are open to students and members of Hamel Recreation Center.

Choose from 30 intramural sports. Competition ranges from competitive to recreational. Most sports offer men's, women's, and/or co-rec leagues
Swasey Indoor Pool
United States Masters Swimming is a national organization that provides organized workouts, competitions and clinics for adults aged 18 and over. Programs are open to competitive and noncompetitive swimmers who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming. Visit Web site for current prices.
Swasey Indoor Pool
Pool kayaking is open to all skill levels. Kayak, spray skirt, paddle, and PFD will be provided. The cost is $5 per week or $20 for 5 visits. Lessons include basic and advanced kayaking skills.

Over 30 sport clubs are offered during the academic year. Schedules vary for each individual sport club.
New Hampshire and other regional areas
Outdoor Adventure trip sign-up is at the front desk of the Hamilton Rec. Center. Outdoor Adventure Trips include kayaking, rock climbing, and others throughout New Hampshire and New England on most weekends during the academic year. Prices vary.

Hamel Recreation Center
Three courts on the third floor of the Hamel Recreation Center's third floor can also be used as badminton courts. The courts are available to Hamel Rec members. To reserve, call 862-3666.

Work out in the Hamel Recreation Center’s 7,500 square feet fitness/weight center. Students and recreation center pass holders have access to cardio equipment, free weights, weight machines, and more than 100 exercise stations.

An International Squash Court is available for use unless reserved (one hour increments only), at the Hamel Recreation Center. Equipment is available from the equipment room.

Two multipurpose courts along with rooms for aerobics, dance, martial arts, fencing, and other activities are located on the bottom floor of the Hamel Recreation Center. Courts are open unless they are reserved for another activity. Equipment is available from the equipment room.
Whittemore Center Arena
Open Skate, Stick, and Puck at the Whittemore Center Arena are offered by Campus Rec. All Stick and Puck skaters must wear protective gear. Skate rentals are $3.00 from the equipment room, Hamel Recreation Center.

Four Racquetball courts are available for use unless reserved (one hour increments only) at the Hamel Recreation Center. Equipment is available from the equipment room. Hamel Recreation Center members may reserve by calling 862-3666.
Field House
Swasey Indoor Pool, in the Field House, offers free membership to full-time students and benefited faculty/staff. Community members, part-time students, and drop-in guests pay a fee.

The UNH Bouldering wall is a 260-square-foot climbing structure located in the Hamel Recreation Center. Climbers are required to fill out a climbing wall waiver prior to climbing. Climbing shoes are available center's equipment window.
UNH Outdoor Education Artificial Climbing Wall
New Hampshire Hall
The UNH Outdoor Education Artificial Climbing Wall is a 45-foot high, 65-foot wide structure, offering climbing routes for both beginners and veteran climbers. Open to faculty, staff, students, and community members. Rates for the climbing gym vary and include a daily rate, 10-punch pass, and annual pass. The wall is open 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm Thursday through Sunday most weeks.

Bremner Field is an astro-play surface recreational field that hosts athletic programs, Campus Recreation programs, and other student activities. Reserve the field via the Campus Rec Web site.

Hike, walk, ski, run, and bike on beautiful trails in College Woods.
Located on the right side as you enter Gables, between Gables Way and the train tracks.
The Gables lawn is a recreation area available for people to enjoy outdoor activities.
Located to the left of Gables North and behind Gables B tower.

Great Lawn, Thompson Hall Lawn
Located in front of Thompson Hall (T-Hall) and the Dimond Library.
The Great Lawn in front of the Dimond Library is a recreation area for people to enjoy outdoor activities.
Located behind Hunter Hall.
There is a small lawn located behind Hunter Hall that is available for people to enjoy outdoor activities.
Main Street
Walk or bike on the path from the core campus to the West Edge parking lot or vice versa, of course.

Memorial Field is an astro-turf surface recreational field that hosts athletic programs, Campus Recreation programs, and other student activities. Reserve the field via the Campus Rec Web site.

The outdoor pool is a seasonal facility. Several passes and punch cards available for purchase. A full list of pool rates can be found on the Web site.

Student Rec Field is a turf-surface recreational field that hosts athletic programs, Campus Recreation programs, Intramural programs, summer camps, and other student activities. Reserve the field via the Campus Rec Web site.
On Main St., next to Field House, In front of Boulder Field.
Twelve tennis courts are available. Six may be rented at $50/day non-UNH rate. The other six are for UNH students, free of charge
