Project Proposal
View the following page for guidance on crafting your proposal: The art of the proposal.
How are project proposals reviewed?
A faculty advisory committee reviews all applications. A faculty member outside of your discipline will review your application
Thus, it is important to write your proposal so it can be understood by this broader audience.
The Budget Form
Follow the instructions attached to your application when completing your budget form. Your faculty mentor can help you with this.
Faculty Recommendation/s
Give the “Faculty Mentor Recommendation” form to your mentor well in advance of the application deadline. SURF applicants must provide two faculty recommendations, one from the mentor and one from another faculty member. Completed recommendation forms must be submitted in sealed envelopes along with each of the 6 copies of your application submission. For more guidance, see the instructions in your application packet.
When will I be notified about receiving an award?
The Center for Undergraduate Research notifies applicants and their faculty mentors of the review committee's decisions in writing within six weeks of the application deadline.
