We are proud to have you represent UNH and we would like to call upon your knowledge to benefit current UNH students. We invite you to become involved in a UNH student/alumni mentor partnership, called Pathways. This volunteer program is designed to bring UNH alumni professionals in on-campus, monthly meetings at UNH with students for the purpose of professional growth. You will share your knowledge of the “real world” with students and provide insight on navigating through the post-college world of work. This opportunity will allow our students to build career networks and grow as professionals and leaders.
If you are interested in applying, and know that you can travel to campus 5-8 times throughout the academic year, please apply through the link listed below.
What is Pathways:
- This voluntary program provides an opportunity for you to share your “real world” insights – information that you may have wished you knew in the transition to the work force.
- Alumni and students will meet monthly, on-campus, according to a mutually agreeable schedule.
- Students are nominated and selected for this program by faculty and staff.
- The program timeline runs from September 2006 to May 2007.
- The program will include 3 on-campus events to bring all participants together at UNH, which will take place in September, January, and May.
- The program will include an introductory training session and networking events to bring all participants together at UNH.
- The alumni and student participants will have the support of the academic departments, the Advising and Career Center, and the Alumni Association.
- Applicants are required to submit a resume and cover letter (please see side menu to upload).
What Pathways is NOT:
- This is not a job search program. Although great connections may be formed, the intent of the program is to share advice and knowledge, not to place candidates.
Benefits for Alumni Mentors:
- Mentoring enables you to connect with UNH on a personal level.
- In addition to "real world" information, you can share encouragement, advice, and networking skills as someone who has been in their shoes at UNH.
- You have a chance to make an impact in a student’s life.
- Mentoring provides an opportunity for you to reflect on where you have been and what you value about your career.
This is a great way to connect again with UNH and support current students!
