The UNH Career Center’s Diversity Network Program (DNP) provides students of underrepresented populations with a background of career education coupled with advice and mentoring from employers who are dedicated to the value of diversity in the workforce. We encourage students of color, international students, GBLT students, students with disabilities, low income/first generation college students, veterans, students in fields traditionally underrepresented such as women in the sciences and engineering as well as any student who values diversity on campus and in their future careers, to join us.
In order to get the most out of the program we ask that students attend a training session, as well as make an appointment at the Career Center before attending the Career/Internship Fair Luncheon. The training session will cover topics such as career development and planning, networking skills and resume and cover letter basics. After completing the training we encourage students to make an appointment with a Career Advisor at the Hood House to further discuss career plans/goals, review a resume or cover letter, take an interest assessment or receive guidance on finding and applying for an internship or full time position. The cap stone of each semester end with the DNP Employer luncheon on the day of the Career/internship Fairs. During this time students meet professionals from various fields and discuss the importance of diversity in their respective fields and companies. This is also a great time for students to ask questions of the employers and begin to develop their profession networks while practicing networking skills.
