Brief description of typical entry-level position or internship: |
In an I/S Analyst position, individuals will receive both classroom training and on the job training. Incumbents will have have continued access to training and development opportunities, mentoring, and long-term career growth. I/S Analysts have a dual career path: joining an Applications team to support one our business markets, assisting with various aspects of information processing services to provide timely, quality software solutions; or, join one of our Hosting Services teams focusing on end-user computing, applications monitoring, network engineering, user support, or desktop technologies. Job responsibilities for assignment within an Application team:
- Assist in the development and enhancement of software from details specifications
- Transforms change requests into general specifications
- Assists with unit testing while applying software quality assurance principles
- Assists with upgrades and rollouts including specific duties related to implementation, training and monitoring performance
- Documents results thoroughly
- Supports ASE/SE in analyzing low complexity technical and/or Level 2 system problems; follow ticket resolution process to design and implement effective solutions
- Assists in investigating components of new tools and techniques
- Provides input to estimates for project plans
- Depicts simple to moderately complex ideas and issues to limited audiences Job responsibilities for assignment within a Hosting Services team:
- Assists with testing operating or network management systems of low complexity in compliance with testing standards
- Assists with rollouts, upgrades and office moves including specific duties related to implementation and monitoring performance
- Documents results thoroughly
- Measures network or computing capacity; ensures service level agreements are met
- Supports TA's in analyzing low complexity technical and/or Level 2 system problems; follow ticket resolution process to design and implement effective solutions
- Assists in the evaluation of new hardware and/or software products and services
- Participates in the creation and implementation of new procedures; documents all changes
- Provides input to estimates for project plans
- Depicts simple to moderately complex ideas and issues to limited audiences
