University Transportation Services - Winter Parking Ban

Please take note that with winter season upon us, the campus is under alert for the Winter Parking Ban (WPB). Under the regulations, the WPB will commence each year at the first declared snow emergency in November or at the latest on Dec. 1. We've been lucky to get through the past few Novembers without an early WPB kickoff, but we need to bear in mind the possibility once again this year.

Once underway, the WPB will cause most parking lots to be off limits to any after-midnight parking, every night regardless of weather conditions, through 6:00 a.m. the following mornings. Limited "weather conditional" parking will be available in Lots B and C, and "exempt" parking is provided for campus residents in their assigned lots (permits required), for commuters and faculty/staff in Lot A Section 4, and for visitors and people without permits in the Visitor Center. The WPB status recording is posted at 862-1001. The WPB late-night campus connector will begin service on Nov. 1, even if the WPB itself hasn't officially started.

Everyone from the campus community is urgently requested to inform themselves and their guests about the WPB. A detailed "FAQ" page is posted here. The Winter Parking Ban is a fact of life on campus that is taken seriously and strictly enforced. With consideration and planning, however, the inconvenience can be minimized.
