Appeals that are most commonly denied are those that, one way or another, request an exemption to the Parking regulations, or are simply not germane. People who attempt exemptions to the regulations compromise the rights of people who park properly. Therefore, appeals of this type are bound to be denied, and therefore should never be submitted in the first place!
Examples of "Bad Appeals":
- "The lot was half empty."
- "I can't afford the ticket."
- "I was just visiting my friend (son, daughter, etc.)"
- "I was only there for one (two, five, ten...) minutes."
- "I've parked there before and never received a ticket."
- "I thought it was a space."
- "There's no sign that says I can't park there."
- "The meter JUST ran out."
- "I already pay the university enough money."
Or any variation of :
- "I didn't know."
- "Nobody told me."
- "I thought something else."
- "I was misinformed by someone who doesn't work at the Parking Office.
