WHERE

AUDITION INFO
A 45-minute production about a young hippo who seems to be clumsier and more awkward than other animals. It is only when the village elder encourages him to enter the watering hole that the young hippo discovers he is special, too. African drumming, music, culture and dance accompany this African Tale. What to Prepare? a 30-45 second monologue that is an animal character. Take creative license; use children’s books; use as much animation and movement in your piece as possible. Please also incorporate at least two lines of singing in some fashion (just to give me an idea of your singing voice).

TOUR INFO
Jan 18-Feb 9 – The production rehearses.  It will tour on MWF, Feb 10-May 10.

The cast may earn 8-12 credits for touring. THE TOUR RETURNS TO CAMPUS BETWEEN 1:30-2PM, SO ACTORS MAY ATTEND AFTERNOON CLASSES.

Credits may be as follows: THDA 653: Performance Project (2 cr), THDA 795: Independent Study (4 cr), THDA 691: Internship (2-4 cr)

Tips: Prepare pieces you like, with which you are comfortable, and that show you off. We want you to take your best shot. IT IS A VERY GOOD IDEA TO READ THE PLAY FROM WHICH YOU ARE AUDITIONING, AND TO MAKE STRONG CHOICES.
