General Information

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations must be followed as safety guidelines for all operations. See "Policies for Use of Johnson and Hennessy Theatres" for further information. The Johnson Theatre is not a union house.   Production crews are trained students.

Theatre Facilities

Loading

Parking for trucks and busses must be arranged through the producing agent, not the Theatre Technician.  The loading dock is at stage level.  There is a freight elevator from stage level to the dressing rooms for moving hampers and wardrobe material.  The dressing room doors are single 34 inch width.

The stage apron is the orchestra pit cover and can be partially or totally removed.  The pit entrance is 1/2 flight below stage level via stage right stairs.  There is 120v power in the pit.  Chairs and music stands are available upon request.  Stand lights may be requested through the Celebrity Series Office.

All dressing rooms are well lit and can be secured.  They have mirrors, chairs, tables and garment racks.  Each has its own private lavatory with sinks, toilets and showers.   The dressing rooms and green room are two flights below stage level via SL stairs.  There is also access via the SR stairs.

Exclusive access to the green room is not always available.

There is a DMX 512 remote plug-in station off stage left.  The remote focus unit can be patched either SL or SR at the proscenium.  There is also a connection house right.



Company Switch

All lighting instruments are lamped as specified.  Cable and instruments have 2P&G grounded pin connectors.  The 15 cell borderlights are used as worklights.  The UNH Dept. of Theatre and Dance stocks Roscolux colors.  Quantities may me limited on some colors.  Some Lee and GAM colors are also available.  There is a limited selection of gobos.

The mixing console is located in the sound booth at back of  house.  Main speakers are left and right on the proscenium wall.  Fill speakers are located left and right above the main cross aisle. There is no center cluster.  Two sixteen channel snakes are run between the sound booth and off stage left and right at the proscenium.

The system is located off stage left at the proscenium. Interconnection with the house system is possible.



Headset and Monitoring Systems

Headsets are Telex single channel. Eight headsets are available. There are headset runs to stage left, stage right, SR at fly rail, light booth, sound booth, orchestra pit, and house left and house right follow spot positions. There is stage audio monitoring to light booth and to the dressing rooms and green room.

There is no paging or intercom system to either the dressing rooms, green room or to the front of house.



Video

A video projector capable of front and rear projection is available. The projector is Panasonic model PT-L780. Please contact Mike Wood for more information.
