GRAD 940 Foundations in College Teaching

Formal consideration of effective teaching approaches. Topics include course design and presentation and evaluation approaches. Introduction to multiple pedagogies and their application in higher education. 2 cr.

This online graduate seminar is designed for college and university faculty as an introduction to the formal scholarship of teaching and learning. It is designed to encourage and assist participants in using the current research on student learning as a foundation for their teaching.

GRAD 940 is intended for current graduate students and for novice teachers, as well as for more experienced teachers.

Cost: The total cost (tuition; fees) for the course will be $694.50 for New Hampshire residents; $768.50 for non-residents. These rates apply to students who take courses prior to matriculation in the Graduate Certificate program. Once you are accepted into the program, regular Graduate School tuition rates apply. All materials needed to complete the course will be made available through the course Blackboard© site; thus, there will be no added purchases of books or reading packets.

Schedule: Course meets online from late January-mid April, 2009. It is an asynchronous course with no on-campus meetings.
