GRAD 961 Cognition, Teaching and Learning
Cognitive theories and their application to classroom instruction. Examination of historical relation between cognition and education as well as current application of cognitive theory in the learning process. Cognitive skills involved in the learning process. Teaching strategies that enhance the use of cognitive skills and improve learning and teaching effectiveness. 2 cr.
This online graduate seminar is designed for college and university faculty as an introduction to the formal research and scholarship on student learning. It is designed to encourage and assist participants in using the current research on student learning as a foundation for their teaching.
