Dr. Gary Goldstein
Dr. Gary Goldstein is an Associate Professor of Psychology and chair of the Division of Natural and Social Sciences at UNHM. He received his BA from SUNY at Buffalo (1971) and MA (1975) and PhD (1980) in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire. Before beginning his tenure at UNHM in 1987, he worked for several years as a staff psychologist in community mental health.
Gary received the UNHM Excellence in Teaching Award in 2003. He teaches courses in clinical psychology, personality psychology, adult psychopathology, and statistics. He also teaches a course on classroom assessment and research in the UNH Academic Program in College Teaching. He has also regularly led workshops on the teaching/learning process. Gary co-chairs the UNHM Assessment Committee and is an assessment fellow for the UNH-Durham Assessment Committee. His research focuses on various dimensions of college teaching and his papers have been published in Teaching of Psychology and Journal on Excellence in College Teaching.
Gary is an avid gardener who lives in Kittery, Maine. His wife teaches third grade, his son is in high school, and his daughter is a student at UNH.
