Outreach is a major component of our chapter. Although we participate in activities that promote STEM among all K-12 students, our biggest outreach endeavor is our program for middle school girls.

UNH-SWE Middle School OutREACH

Our middle school outreach program is run entirely by UNH-SWE members and features hands-on activities, which promote the problem-solving skills associated with engineering and place different engineering disclipines in context.

Current programs include a 6-week after-school program at Dover Middle School and a monthly program at Oyster River Middle School. Activities include an aluminum foil boat, wastewater treatment plant, mechanical dissection, and ice cream from scratch.
