| Cat's
Cache |
If
you're looking for a great graduation gift for your future Wildcat,
think about giving them money for their first year at UNH. You
can deposit money directly into their Cat's Cache account via
the web. Cat's Cache is accepted at the UNH Bookstore, by the
UNH Computer Store, and by all Dining Services locations. Students
must use Cat's Cache to do laundry in the residence halls.

Services |
Many
of our students have special needs or requirements that can impact
their experience here at UNH. We have several offices and departments
that would be happy to help you and your son or daugher prior
to their arrival in August. Includes helpful information about
offices like: community health nurse, dining nutritionist, health
education, students with disabilities, counseling, etc.

| Insurance |
Before your son or daughter comes to college, it is wise to investigate your insurance policies. Many homeowner policies cover damage or theft to belongings in a residence hall, but if you do'nt have such a policy, then UNH recommends purchasing renter's insurance.
Effective for the 2007-08 academic year, the University of New Hampshire will be requiring health insurance as a condition of enrollment for all full-time students. Information on the health insurance requirement and the new Student Health Benefits Plan can be found at http://www.unh.edu/vpsas/health.html

Reading |
Looking
for a book that will help you with the letting go process and
also give you great insight into your son or daughter's life at
college? One of the best books I have read dealing with this time
of transition is called "Don't Tell Me What to Do, Just
Send Money: The Essential Parenting Guide to the College Years"
by Helen E. Johnson and Christine Schelhas-Miller. We are not
affiliated with these authors in any way. We ordered it online,
and it is an excellent, easy-to-read guidebook on the process
of becoming the parent of a college student. |
