Giving Back to Your Community

The University of New Hampshire Judicial System is governed by three principles: Fairness, Community, and Responsibility. As a Judicial and Mediation Programs volunteer you help uphold these ideals and maintain an environment that is educational as well as just.

In matters of student conduct, the Judicial and Mediation Programs Office believes that our judicial process gives students an opportunity to learn from their decisions. We strive to help students become self-aware, thoughtful, and responsible citizens. In fulfilling its role in the personal development of students, the Judicial and Mediation Programs Office also has a responsibility to balance the rights and needs of the individual with those of the University community.

The UNH judicial system relies upon you, the students, professional staff, and faculty to make decisions regarding allegations of student misconduct and to advise students regarding the judicial process. The integrity of the judicial system depends not only on the fairness of the procedures, but also on the skills, knowledge and commitment of our volunteer members. As a Judicial Programs volunteer, you perform an essential and valuable service for the entire University community.
