The National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) in Asheville, NC, part of NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS), is the central clearinghouse for official NOAA climate data.

NCDC datasets include land-, ocean-, upper air-, and satellite-based observations as well as long-term historical (paleoclimate) data. A fee may be required for access to certain datasets and map products.

Climate forecasts and monitoring products are produced by NOAA's Climate Prediction Center in Washington, D.C.
