You will undertake an investigation of a topic of your choice
that deals with foreign language teaching and learning . The final written documentation should be 12-15 pages (not including reference
list) using APA style. It should be written in a 12-point font and double-spaced
using any word processing program. Using the WWW, ERIC and other resources, your
paper should include a minimum of 7 reviewed sources beyond our textbooks. Your
term paper should consist of a comprehensive review of relevant literature,
conclusions and practical implications of language learning and teaching. During the semester you will be asked to turn in a 300-500
word abstract along with a list of possible resources to describe your proposed
research.
Term paper focusing on the following topics are highly encouraged:
1. The role of interaction in language classroom
2. Teaching and learning with advanced technologies
3. Performance assessment in L2 classroom
4. Cultural understanding and awareness in L2 teaching and learning
5. Interpretive communication: developing learners' listening and reading skills
6. Writing as a process in L2 teaching
7. Focus-on-form instruction and communicative language teaching
8. Learner diversity, styles, strategies and multiple intelligences
