Smart Meeting 9/16/05 Attendance: Erick, Jen, Matt, and Wayne
Website was checked no website updates at Trinity College so we will hold off on the rule printing for now.
Two logo ideas were shared we will share again when others are able to attend then have it cleared through the university lawyer to put on packets and such
We are going to collaborate with the Senior Design team on the robot projects, design two robots but possible share a maze and other ideas
Erick will be talking with Professor Fussel to let him know that SMART my not always do the fire fighting robot every year and that it will be up to the club as a whole what competition we join.
Erick has spoke with Adam Perkins and done some research into microprocessors that we may want to use for the robot that are reasonably prices ($100-$450), Motorola Hc-11 around $100 and the Hc-12 (a little more expensive) are two top prospects currently. There is one available for us to practice on as well.
Talk on joining up with the current robotics club: we would still be a separate division need to get our own funding but possible aid us in contacts with people and some additional resources. Seems to be still up for discussion
Wayne shared his research into the fire fighting robots of the past SNUFFY which has done well in previous competition at Trinity. Good example that everyone should look at.
Old fire fighting robot was given back to Professor Fussel
Inventory still remains: Pitman 19.1 volt motors, 30 lbs of flame fighting dust.
