October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. In recognition, UNH will again be offering a set of informative events for the whole community. The series will include special speaker presentations regarding State of New Hampshire laws that pertain to information technology, UNH Policies, Encryption, Safe Computing, and strategies and devices we can all use to protect confidentiality.

In addition, we will host a number of fun events, such as a phishing derby during which participants will compete for prizes by submitting examples of phishing attempts they found in their E-mail, but recognized in time as being malicious and to which they did not reply. Details about the phishing derby will be provided on the Safe Computing web site . In the meantime, if you have an example of a phishing attempt, do not save it in electronic form and do not forward it by E-mail. Print a screen shot of the example and save a paper copy for submission in October.
