CIS Warns Clients Not To Use Internet Explorer 7

by Jason Boucher and CIS Staff

All clients using the following applications must download the IE7 Auto-Install Block Utility before November 14, 2006:

  • BANNER
  • Web Intelligence (WEBI)
  • Famis
  • InfoEd
  • Kronos
  • Xtender
  • Exlibris
  • Blackboard

Download the IE7 Auto-Install Block Utility here: http://www.unh.edu/ie7utility

An incompatibility with Microsoft’s newest browser (IE7) has been communicated to Computing & Information Services (CIS) by the distributors of the applications. This incompatibility will affect the performance of many applications. Some applications, such as Banner, will not function correctly and may produce errors.

CIS strongly recommends clients using these applications NOT update to the IE7 Browser. Moreover, it is extremely important these clients download the IE7 Install Blocker, which prevents users from receiving automatic updates and installation from Microsoft by way of automatic updates.

For additional information and continued updates, please visit http://www.unh.edu/helpdesk or call the CIS Help Desk at 603.862.4242.
