UNH to Pilot Summer Distance Learning Courses

CIS Academic Technology, along with the Associate Dean from UNH Durham Schools and Colleges, is working with seven instructors from four colleges to make a variety of courses available via distance learning in the upcoming summer session. The courses will take several approaches to distance learning:
Instructors will deliver their courses using several Web-based technologies, including LearnLinc (also known on campus as FarView), Blackboard, and a new technology called Panopto. LearnLinc delivers fully interactive, real-time lectures taught to students both onsite and at a distance. Blackboard, the learning management system used widely on campus to facilitate traditional classroom courses, gives faculty tools for delivering course materials asynchronously, allowing students to access the materials 24/7 from remote locations. Panopto is a presentation tool that lets faculty capture their classroom lectures and course materials and integrate them into a single file that can be streamed via Blackboard. The Panopto tool indexes all course materials and makes them searchable, and includes important features like student note-taking.
The pilot courses will begin on May 25 and run through August 14. If you have questions, or would like more information, please contact Terri Winters via E-mail at terri.winters@unh.edu or call 862-7039.
